3/24 Band Notes

Dear Parents:

I am writing to you concerning the Performance Trip to Walt Disney World that was originally scheduled for March of 2020. I apologize for not being able to get you more concrete information earlier, but due to this most unique and unfortunate situation, all of us have been struggling to find answers, make well-informed decisions and do what is best for our students and families.

At this time I can confirm that we are not going on this trip and we will not be looking to rebook this trip for the remainder of this school year.

We purposely did not cancel this trip. This is a non-refundable trip as are most group trips (unless individuals take out individual insurance policies). We knew that if we canceled, monies would be lost. Therefore, we let the trip ride, knowing that Disney was closing and vendors would have to react.

The trip has been canceled by Disney and our vendors, not by us. Therefore, we are entitled to some refunds.

Please understand that when we develop a trip such as this, Maloney does not retain the funds you deposit. As you make payments, we make payments to hotels, airlines, Disney and more. By the time COVID-19 disrupted the school session, 100% of funds were paid out to our vendors.

We are in the process of working out what refunds we can recuperate and what we can get back to families. Please understand that this is a complicated process. Each vendor is different, some are offering credits, some are refunding monies, etc. While all of our vendors are being wonderful and receptive, it will take time to get physical funds and credits and process them for you.

When we do get all of this sorted out, all of you will get a very detailed breakdown of what you are getting back and how refunds will work.

In the coming weeks we will be working with our travel team to develop and roll out our refund process. Once we have received funds and credits from our vendors, we will reach out to you as to how our refund process will work. I do not have a timeline as to when funds will be returned to us.

I thank you for your patience and understanding and I wish you and your family the very best during this most challenging time.

Sincerely,

Brian Cyr
