8/27 Band Notes

Dear Parents:

Welcome to the new school year and to our music department! It was great to meet those of you who joined us for our opening meeting and showcase on Monday! 

Here are a few important notes and reminders from our meeting as well as a few new things! 

REHEARSAL SCHEDULE FOR NEXT TWO WEEKS:

(we start at 6pm. Please arrive early enough to get to the field. We dismiss at or before 9:00, so expect students to be ready between 9:05-9:10)

Wednesday 8/28 6:00-9:00pm 

Monday 9/2 NO REHEARSAL - LABOR DAY

Wednesday 9/4 8/28 6:00-9:00pm 

Monday 9/9 6:00-9:00pm

Wednesday 9/11 6:00-9:00pm **** possible sectionals at 5:00pm as needed to prep for Saturday show

Saturday 9/14 COMPETITION! Schedule TBA - THIS IS AN ALL DAY EVENT!

 

FUNDRAISER REMINDER! It's the quickest, most lucrative fundraiser we have and it is to help pay for a trip you don't know anything about! Sounds crazy right!? But take a look... ad space in our show book - you get 50% of all money earned towards your trip account. Here's the info, sell some ads!

We need all families to complete our FamilyID paperwork as soon as possible. This is our permission slips and medical forms. Students cannot participate in any band event until this is done. Link to the forms:

Charms is the third and final communication tool, which covers financials, calendar, volunteering, equipment and more. Students have setup this up in class, but please talk to your student and be sure that you can access this account as well. The Charms account needs to be something that both you and your student can access for different reasons.

Marching Band Home Show Volunteers Meeting (30-45 minutes) 

September 9th, 6:00pm in the band room. We need all volunteers to drop off their student for rehearsal and sick around for a short meeting to go over the logistics for the event - maps, schedules, advance copies of process documents, etc. Please plan to join us for this quick but important meeting 

 

Expect more information to come regarding our marching band show and the start of our competition season later this week. Thank you so much for supporting our students!
